How MedSmart TZ handles your information

This policy explains what MedSmart TZ collects, why we use it, and how to contact us. It covers the MedSmart TZ Android study app, this website, and WhatsApp messages sent to our business number for support.

Who we are

MedSmart TZ is a sole proprietorship operated by Jeffhard Raward Mgallah in Tanzania. We provide a study app for clinical medicine students, with notes, practice questions, and study plans inside the Android app.

What we collect

App accounts and use. If you create an account or use the study app, we collect the details needed to run it, such as your name, email address or phone number, login credentials, study progress, and basic device or app information (for example app version and error reports) when the app sends them.
WhatsApp support. If you message our WhatsApp Business number, we receive the message content, your phone number, and your WhatsApp profile name, as provided by WhatsApp.
Email and phone. If you email us or call the numbers on this site, we keep the message and the contact details you give us so we can reply.
Website. This website is a static landing page. It does not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. Our host may keep ordinary technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested) to operate and secure the site.

Study materials on the website are not a separate product. The learning content is inside the app.

How we use it

To provide the study app, including accounts, progress, and access to learning content.
To answer support requests on WhatsApp, email, and phone.
To fix problems, keep the service reliable, and improve how the app and website work.
To meet legal duties that apply to us in Tanzania.

We do not sell personal data.

Who we share it with

We share information only when it is needed to run MedSmart TZ:

Meta / WhatsApp. Messages you send to our WhatsApp Business number are handled on WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta. Their platform processes those messages under their own terms and privacy policy.
Hosting and infrastructure providers. The website is hosted on Vercel. The app and its accounts are stored with the service providers we use to run MedSmart TZ. Those providers process data only so they can host and deliver the service.
Legal requests. We may disclose information if the law requires it.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.

How long we keep it, and how we protect it

We keep account and support information for as long as your account is active, for as long as we need it to answer a request, and for a limited period afterwards where we need records for security, disputes, or legal duties. We then delete or anonymise it when we no longer need it.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including access limited to people who need it to operate MedSmart TZ and hosting that uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). No online service can promise perfect security.

Your choices

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to records we must keep by law. Email admin@medsmarttz.com with the subject “Privacy request”. You can also stop messaging our WhatsApp number at any time.
